AWWWWH FALL IS PEEKING!

Fall is shimmery and peeking thru! I love all the colors. Bursts of Orange and Reds! Makes me all warm and fuzzy!

I did some more creating this weekend.




Here is a Turkey I found and did up real quick from Create & Decorate Holiday issue. These guys are quick and easy I of course did a tweak here and there!


This little handy dandy gadget is a Feather Weights best Friend! I just love this quick little bobbin winder!



Here She is! I love my Feather Weight Singer! Her name is Bizzy Bee! We made Santa Cloths and Hats all weekend!!

Teen Chic #1 came by for some pizza and chit chat! She is a busy gal working and going to school. Her little brother is joining wrestling at school and wants to show everyone what he knows and has learned, Teen chic #2 doesn't play fair and puts him in a head lock right away. And teen chic #2 is too prissy and doesn't like to mess up her long brown hair or smudge her perfect makeup, so the only victim who is willing to be his guinea pig is Skeeter bug, who bites when she has had ENOUGH rough house. Teens and all their hOrMones!! Love them!!

A Craften I be doing!

Naked Santa's have beards! yep tried a new yarn, once I decide on cloths for these guys, I will spritz some coffee to age the old dudes..

So this weekend has been prosperous. I did some house sitting and made some Z bread, Yum! and sewed up some pillows and some witch's legs. They will have red glittery soes and stripey legs. I will share pic once they get their paint on.


I wanted to share a few fall items I made and picked up. I love the Crow and rusty star. I made these guy's for the show, and in the back you can spy my Crow stitching, fits in a 4x6 frame, and I can't forget about mr. Grins I picked up at Dirty Annies in PA. I just picked up the cute small pumpkin at Gordmans today, they have all their Fall up and are already setting up Christmas!

The Holidays are breathing down our necks!
Guess I better start pinching pennies and figure out what the Teen units want this year. Just last year I swore I was not going shopping on Black Friday, and what did Teen unit #1 make me do at the crack a$$ of DaWn! I found my funkey behind in line at Target... Well this year she don't live here no more.... :-(
BUT if she wants to shop at dawn I will... I miss her... Why do they have to grow up. Seems like yeserday I was holding her hand waiting for the short yellow bus to come pick her for preschool. Her hair in pig tails rosy cheeks with a great big cheesy smile. WAAAAAAA!

Well my crafty pals, I'm off to dream land! Ya all take care and keep them glue guns hot, it's about that time again!!

Hello out there!!

Where in the world have I been?! Well here I am at the Rein fair! And the boys cheesen it up. Love the Rein fair, lots of dressed up folks and a few Pirates to keep you entertained.






I have been a very very busy bee, not only have I started a new job; which I love! Teen chic #1 started college and moved out.. :0( Yes sad day in deed, but she really wants to spread her wings, so mom pouted and let her baby bird fly, with the understanding that she can come home anytime she wants… BUT not only to do laundry ...

I have been sewing like the breeze!

I was able to cut some snowmen, 100 of the little guys. I love the smell of fresh cut pine and a fresh coat of wood stain, truly gives me a high... No it's not the stain that is making me high... well maybe just a little...

lol :0)

Here you can see some sheep and a few stitching's! AND LOTS of pins! Pumpkins, black cats and Annie heads.




I also Put together several pin and earrings sets.

They were ornaments that I put together as earrings and pins. These are my quick sales. I still have sooooo much more to show and share.


I am getting ready for the Holidays at the Homestead to start. Oct 30th to Dec. 7. I can’t wait!!

AND last but not least my bestest bud ever from Nocturnal Knit Witch has decided to fly her broom my way to stay a week in October!! Whoot Whoot!!

I feel Fall sneeking around the corner, our mornings are cooler, and I spyed a few leaves turning brown. I love this time of year. I wish we had this weather all year round...

Howdy out There!!

Yep! It has been insane. I will be starting a new job come Monday. So to recap, I had been looking into finding something that would get me more money but not have to drive too far (gas prices are sucking the life out of me!), but not a drastic change from what I do now. Still working with the military but now thru the government no longer thru a contract that can be pulled at anytime... I feel I can now breath easy.

Still crafting like a mad women. I REALLY hope to get some of my craft pics up soon, just can't seem to get myself together. I really have been accomplishing stuff.

My bestest buddy may be coming to see little ol me in October!! That makes me grin like a donkey eating thistles...

She's growing up!

She's done with High school! Now what?? Here "R", teen chic #1 is with her Bio-Dad. They haven't seen each other for about 15 1/2 years (baby daddy drama, wont get into that now). So the reuion was nice for the both of them. Life does funny things and circles that I thought would never close did on Thursday 05/15/08...



So of course we had to see how much they are a like, funny the child really never new him, only new of him and they are so much alike it is almost scary, things they say, mannerisims, and look I finally see where she got her 10 1/2 sasquach feet from!



I get my feather weight back today I will share pics as soon as..... well I'm working on it!! ;0)

Where have I gone?????

Where in the world have I been?! I know I have been a very lazy blogger! Sorry to those who sometimes stop by! I promise when life slows a bit I will try harder!







So for those who do care, I will catch you up. I have done some collecting, there for a while I had the urge to go to local thrift stores and antique stores and have found some pretty major finds, I got a large picnic Longaberger picnic basket for ONLY $40, and it still has the logo tag, you bet I snagged that deal! I have now collected over the past few months 6 large and one small picnic baskets with wooden lids. I plan to use to transport my goodies to shows and heck some day I may plan a really big PICNIC!!








Okay something else that has distracted me is my love of reading, I re-read "Gone with the Wind". Love that book, and had to watch the movie, of course to truly appreciate the story you really should read the book, the movie is missing some pretty major characters. so then I couldn't stop there I had the bug, so I picked up "Scarlett" loved the book didn't care for the movie. So then I did a random search and low and behold the story didn't end there I found "Rhett Butlers People" I really did enjoy this book too. Different ending than in Scarlett because of different writers but still a very good read. And since I have Scarlett and Rhett fever and of course the interest I have for the Civil War I found a couple other stories to fill my mind.
I have also found some letters written to loved ones during the Civil War. Interesting, people just don't think or love that way anymore...

I just love that era. I once had a fortune teller tell me I was a wife of a farmer who then became a soldier from the South who died during Gettysburg's and she also added I and my children starved to death. Maybe that's why I have a problem not turning food down in this life time. If you could only see my Buddha belly now! ;)
AND I have a Senior who will be graduating MAY 15th. SOOOOO I have been very busy with her researching colleges, grants, loans, dresses, shoes preparing for family to visit oh we made our own invitations 100, working on a menu for the grad post party, I think I may lose my mind very soon.

I even have worked on a few things not a lot. So as soon as the smoke has settled I get on the move and take more pics and make more time. SO bare with me!!

Yep the LONG "short" week has finally come to an END!! I don't know about you all, BUT Friday seems to have taken a LOOOONG time to get here.

I know I haven't put pics up of all the stuff I have been working on, I hope to this weekend, the end of the school year is closing in on us around here and time on the computer IS like asking for the last Nutter Butter in my house! T'aint gonna happen sista! I'll tell ya what I've been working on thou!

30 or so stuffed sheep waiting to be painted and made into ornaments, then I have to work on the felted penny blankets that go over their backs. right now they sit in a zip lock bag pale and blank. As my Moon sister would say they look like Zombie sheep. They really do need color...

I have legs, arms, heads and bodies to turn, stuff and assemble.

A afghan I am trying to crochet for Teen chic #1 who will be Graduating May 15th! Yea Rori! She is my "hippie soul gonna save the earth optamistic clog wearing naturaly beautiful with hardly any commen since, but is brilliant graduating with a GPA over 4.0 child", I just hope she finishes college and gets a good paying job even if it is a career in the way of saving the earth before she settles down with another hippie soul who better have a good job. CUZ there taint no more room in momma's house for anymore procrastinaters! Hey what else can a mother hope for?! Only the best for my young-uns'

AND last but not least, about 25 or so little Annie heads soon to be made into pins, I am currently putting hair on them all. I want to call them "Annie and all her Sister friends". I constantly have something in the works, when ever or where ever there is a spare moment of untouched time in my life you will find me with a needle and thread or a crochet needle in hand woking away like a crazed women who has drank WAY too much caffeine.

Random Thoughts!

SOOO True! I have been out of the loop, trying to keep my mother upbeat, teans in line, dog fed, work, work and oh yea more WORK! Seams that is all I ever do!! Two and half jobs, three teans and well then there is life, what is a Crazy women to do? I must say I stayed in jammies most of weekend and crafted my littled heart away. I was a sewing stuffing maniache! I would show pics, BUT tean chic #2 has huge project due and has monopolized PC. I did get to watch a bunch of sappy love stories on the boob tube because of V-day coming up. Not knocking the day, it's just That my heart remains in intensive care....






So lets see what else can I randomly throw out there!.....






See no Evil?! Guess they don't have cable... Would not like to hear any eval, but must confess sometimes I like to hear a little gossip...hum... Speak no evil, don't drive in front of me and not know how to drive or you will see and hear me yelling some evil.. Guess I have some work to do...

Bittersweet Sentiments

Good day my crafty Gal Pals, I write with a heavy heart, my Mother will be losing her 3rd sister this year. She has lost a sister every two years now. My mother is the second oldest of 11 children, 6 girls and 4 boys. My aunt B who is just a couple years younger than my mother, was given 4 to 6 weeks to live due to a fatal illness; she has cancer throughout her body and has decided to not do any further treatment. I guess I don’t blame her. So I have been scratching my brain as to what I should say to someone who has been given this death sentence, so I wrote a 2 page letter hoping NOT to ONE. Depress the snot out of her and TWO. To say what I want to say before she is no longer with us, and a P.S. to say “Maybe you can come back next time as a bird and crap on those heads you were not able to in this life…;0)” I will even put this in an envelope with a stamp and mail it to her home. Novel Idea huh?? Computers and e-mail have made communication all seem so impersonal anymore, it’s not difficult to just forward someone else’s idea with a ditto at the bottom. You know all those infamous chain letters we get and glance thru. This letter is just for her…

I will miss you aunt B.

So in reflection, at least those of us who think we are too busy to say to those who mean a lot to us, we should take note, and express what we want to and need to say, cuz’ ya never know when it will be too late.

I also want to send out good wishes to First Mate Tia who is a dear friend to my BFF Moon Sister. Moon colored pieces of her hair pink in honor of Tia. You’re in my prayers First mate!

I see Crows!

Yep that there is a bag of unfinished Crows! I have about 30 or so of the little critters. My fingers are tired! They are all stuffed and ready for paint and distressing, then a good dunk into a mixture of dark coffee and Cinnamon. Then I will dress them all up with a hat and rusty bell (which will also take a dunk in said mixture).

These guys did great at the Homestead this year.

I have been making these dudes for a while now, I think I found the pattern in a issue of some ornament book/magazine. the original pattern is in my storage, so I had to improvise, I swiped my moms from the christmas tree and made a new pattern. ;0)

Look what I can do!

I made my very first ever Ball Headed Snowman with a weighted bottom. (I can relate to the weighted bottom thing ;0) For those of you who ALREADY know this stuff, good on ya! But for us who are challenged, this IS a big deal! He still needs to be dressed, and of coarse I still need to coffee stain him, I just couldn’t wait to show him off. I even had to give him a belly button. I know who is going to see that once he is dressed. Who knows, I’ll know!;0)







I love the shy simple little face. I had to give his cheeks a little color too. So as soon as I dress this little nakey fellow I’ll show those pics...

Now give me a little time, I have my hands in many pots at the moment.


Disclaimer: I just want to add that I created this little guy from NO pattern and I can honestly say I don't think I have seen a little guy like this. He is of my own creation.

Reconnaissance computer take over was a success!

Yeap! I snuck into teens room unbeknownst to them, minimized homework screen and took over. Of course when teen came in yelling that there was no one at the door, I was already logged on! “MOOOOOOM!” I gave the stink eye and reminded them that I gave birth to them and they owe me, or something like that.

I did compromise, I just down loaded pics and decided to finish here at my cubicle cave…

I managed to down load all my craft pics, but I thought I would spread it out, considering they are currently still in the works, and I have no idea when I’ll be able to take over computer again…

Oaky, so you can see how these turned out oh so lovely. What do you think Moon?
I love to use my creative mind and see what works and believe me I have found enough that doesn’t work. Let me know what you think.

Now I need to find a few frames that are suitable for them. Hey Moon, when ya get the tat colored I would like to show that on here.
Skeeter Bug, says "Hey" she loves those nasty smelly bones! She holds it like a cat. I'm sure she is made of all sorts of left over critter parts cuz sometimes she's part cat, deer and rodent. Silly dog! My dad has often said, "she is tiny in stature but she has a big heart." and big googly wet eyeballs...;0)

Hulloooo out there!

Wow! Where have I been?! WORKING!! my hours changed so I work later on main job, which makes it later on 2nd job, not to mention this cuts into kid time, so computer time has to be on the down low at main job... SHHHHHH!

Plus my father had surgery, so I have been helping out with stuff around the house. Let's just say the new year proves to be very busy so far...

I have managed to squeeze in some craft time in, I know you have see the pic below, I have them done now and will down load pics of them very soon, (need to shuv a teen in the closet long enough to steal computer time at home, only place I can down load pics!)

I used a new technique, I used colored pencils. I know, Say What?! They will be framed so I'm not worried about fading. Must say they turned out well!

Also, I had some help from my best bud in in Hawaii with figuring out some new sewing techs, I learned how to make a ball for a head, I'll show pics of my version of "Samuel McFrosty". Coming soon. See I usually worked with wood, love the smell of all woods, and the varnish and all that, (cave women in me!)I truly miss my saws and sanders and all my tools..... (heavy sigh!) But now I live in limited space I've had to adjust my crafty side with learning how to sew and other nifty new crafty things to keep my busy hands working. So please stay tuned, I WILL get my stuff out there!
